Your green bin is for more than yard waste. It can handle many
organic materials we use every day. Greasy pizza boxes, used paper towels, pet and human hair, fruit and vegetable scraps, and other food waste can all go in the green bin.
Pet waste, however, belongs in the trash bin for landfill. To keep your green bin cleaner and fresher, line the bottom with newspaper or add yard waste before food scraps.
Never use plastic bags of any kind as they contaminate the material.
